Leny Koens is a Senior Clinical Research Associate at PCRG and is based in Perth, Australia.

Leny has worked on clinical trials over numerous therapeutic areas, including acute and chronic trials in cardiology and respiratory disease, oncology, rheumatoid arthritis, arthritis, dermatology, diabetes and sexual health from phase II through to multi-national phase IV trials.

Leny’s background is in nursing with many years of experience as a senior registered nurse, with her main area of expertise in the acute care areas. (Coronary, Intensive Care Units, A&E) and her first exposure to Clinical trials was as a registered nurse. Leny also worked for many years as a study coordinator before joining a large Clinical Research Organization, Omnicare Clinical Research, in 2002, where she gained valuable training and experience is all aspects of conducting Clinical trials.

Leny moved back to her home land, The Netherlands, in 2009 where she took on a senior lead CRA role with the CRO, ICON Clinical Research where she gained valuable leadership experience managing teams in several European countries (Spain, Portugal, Hungary and the Czech Republic) on a large multinational Cardiology study. She returned to Australia in 2010 and continued working as a lead CRA on two multinational oncology studies managing CRA teams in the Asia Pacific area. (Australia, India, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore and South Africa)

This year Leny took on the role of Senior Clinical Research Associate at PCRG, where she is involved in several cardiology studies,managing and monitoring sites in Australia, Hong Kong Singapore and Malaysia. 

With over 9 years of experience as a CRA, Leny has conducted trials across 13 countries, including site selection, start up, monitoring, and close out in over 15 multi-centre clinical trials.
